HOLY LAND PILGRIMAGE

 

Day 1.  DEPART 
Depart from Destination Airport for our overnight flight to Tel Aviv.   We have complimentary beverages, in-flight movies, dinner, and breakfast.

Day 2.  TEL AVIV
We arrive Ben Gurion  Airport, transfer to our hotel in Tel Aviv for dinner and overnight. 

Day3.  TIBERIAS

We begin our travels from our hotel to Caesarea along the Mediterranean Sea. We continue to Mount Carmel, visit the site of Elijah’s confrontation with the priests of Baal. We will then travel to Nazareth visiting Mary’s well and celebrate mass at the Church of Annunciation, where the Word became Flesh!  On our way to Tiberias we will visit the village of Cana where our married Pilgrims will re-new their wedding vows. We will arrive late afternoon.  You will have the remainder of the afternoon and early evening free time. Dinner and overnight. Tiberias

Day 4. TIBERIAS
We cross the Sea of Galilee by boat. We visit Capernaum, see the remains of the village synagogue; and the new Church built atop of St. Peter’s house.  We will travel to the Mount of Beatitudes to celebrate Mass here and have time for personal reflection and meditation at these beautiful grounds.   We then visit Tabgha and the Franciscan Church of St Peter’s Primacy; where Jesus made His appearance after the resurrection.  We then visit the Benedictine Basilica of the Loaves and Fishes.  After lunch we visit the River Jordan where we will renew our Baptismal promises.   Dinner and overnight.

Day 5.  JERUSALEM 
We journey to Mount Tabor the site of the Transfiguration, celebrate Mass. We will continue to Beit Shean where the Roman ruins are, we ride through the Jordan Valley, viewing the Mount of Temptation. We will go to Qumran. Weather permitting the adventuress will swim in the Dead Sea. We make our thrilling entry into Jerusalem. Dinner overnight Jerusalem.

Day 6.  JERUSALEM
This morning we awake to visit the Place of Ascension and the Church of Pater Noster. We will see the beautiful view of the City of Jerusalem from Mt. of Olives. From here we will walk down to the Dominus Flevit Chapel, where Jesus wept over Jerusalem, onto the Garden of Gethsemane, for personal prayer and celebrate Mass at the Church of all Nations.  In the afternoon we will visit the Shrine of the Book to view the Dead Sea Scrolls, the Model  City of Jerusalem. Dinner and overnight.

Day 7. JERUSALEM 
In the morning we drive to Bethlehem, The House of Bread, to visit the Church of the Nativity.  We visit the Manger, Crusader’s Cloister, and the Grotto of St. Jerome, where we celebrate Christmas Mass.  Afterwards, we go to Mt. Zion to visit the tomb of King David.  The Church of Dormition and pray in the Upper Room. We enter the Old City through the Zion Gate, making our way to the Western (Wailing) Wall. We will see the Dome of the Rock on the Temple Mount.  Dinner and overnight.

Day 8 JERUSALEM/AIRPORT  
We will visit St Peter of Gallicantu ( The Cock Crows ) where Jesus was held in the house of the High Priest Caiaphas. We will head to visit one of the most beautiful Churches in Israel the Church of Visitation; where Mary visited her cousin Elizabeth to utter the words of the Magnificat. We will finalize our day to visit Pilate’s Judgment Hall the Chapel of Flagellation, Lithostrotos,Arch of Ecce Home and the Convent of the Sisters of Zion. We will prayerfully walk the Stations of the Cross along the Via Dolorosa, concluding at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher to visit the Tomb of Jesus.  We will have a farewell dinner before heading to Ben Gurion Airport for our overnight flight home. Day 9 USA
We arrive at home with memories to cherish always.  We will always remember we walked in the footsteps of Jesus to bring a new meaning to the Gospels.

 

Deposits: A deposit of $350 per person is required to secure reservations.  The deposit will be accepted only in the form of personal check, bank draft, or postal money order.  

The format would just like it is above with the blocks and the itinerary on the side... This would be the itinerary for Italy.

This itinerary comes back a little high due to the Euro, if we left off the last two days it might be better, the flights are reasonable... I like the itinerary and people want to visit Venice for only one reason the gondolas LOL 

DAY ONE:  We depart Atlanta for Rome, Assisi, Florence, and Venice.

 

DAY TWO: We arrive in Rome to meet with our guide and motor coach from our overnight flight for a short drive for our four night stay in Rome.  We will visit the Colosseum on the way for a picture opportunity. We will have free time before we settle in for the night at our hotel. D overnight Rome

 

DAY THREE: This morning we will visit St. Peter’s Square and St Peter’s Basilica with our day to include the Papal Audience with the Holy Father if he is in residence.  We will visit St. John of Lateran.  We will also see the Holy Stairs. We will celebrate Mass today.  B,D overnight Rome

 

DAY FOUR:  We will visit the Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel. We will celebrate Mass nearby our hotel.   We will visit Saint Paul outside the walls and one of catacombs burial place of the early Christians.  B, D overnight Rome

 

DAY FIVE:  Today after we celebrate Mass you will have a free time in the morning to explore Rome on your you own before we travel to Assisi. You might visit the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, the many Churches in the beautiful city of Rome. On our way to Assisi we will visit the Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels, and the Portiuncula; Francis' Church of the Little Portion.   B,D overnight Assisi

 

DAY SIX:  We will have an early rise. We will celebrate Mass at the Basilica of St. Francesco and see the tomb of St. Francis.  We will have a walking tour of the village, to include the Church of St. Clare to view the crucifix that spoke to St. Francis. We pass by the famous Temple of Minerva.  We will visit the Hermitage.  We will celebrate Mass in Assisi. B, D overnight Assisi.

 

DAY SEVEN: We will celebrate Mass in Siena on our way to Florence.  This morning, we journey through the Italian countryside.  We celebrate Mass at the Dominican Church commemorating St. Catherine, we’ll visit the famous Piazza del Campo. The Cathedral (Italian: Duomo di Siena) is dedicated from its earliest days as a Roman Catholic Marian church, and now dedicated to the Assumption of Mary.  We will have free time before we retire for the evening at our hotel in Florence. D overnight Florence

DAY EIGHT:  We will celebrate Mass today in Florence. We will visit Giotto’s Bell Tower, the Baptistry of St. John with Ghiberits bronze Gates of Paradise doors.  Visit Michelangelo’s famous statue of David.  Visit the Duomo Cathedral and climb Brunelleschi Cupula. We finish our day with a drive to “Piazzale Michelangelo” for a panoramic view of the city. B, D overnight Florence

DAY NINE:  We leave Florence to stay in Padua near Venice. We will visit Santurio of Madonna di San Luca in Bologna. Once we arrive in Padua we will visit the Basilica of Saint Anthony of Padua patron saint of miracles. We will marvel at the Giotto's painting in Scrovegni Chapel.  We will celebrate Mass in Padua.  B, D. overnight Padua

 

DAY TEN:  We will have a full day in Venice.  Visit Piazza San Marco including the Doges Palace, the Bridge of Sighs and the Rialto.  After celebrating Mass you will have a leisure afternoon on your own. Maybe you might take a gondola ride, visit the many museums or Churches; immerse yourself in the beauty of this city.  We will return to Padua later in the evening for a farewell dinner before leaving in the morning to return to the US. DAY ELEVEN:  We depart Venice to return to the US with memories to cherish for a lifetime.
